Over the Easter weekend, as well as the Easter festivities, 11 bars across Montefrio created a ‘tapas especial’ as part of a weekend tapas trail, known locally as Ruta de la Tapa.

During the 4-day event, people were encouraged to visit each of the participating bars and enjoy the special tapas on offer. To help entice people to get to as many places as possible, every bar stamped the ‘tapa-porte’ – the tapas trail passport. Those who collected at least nine out of the 11 stamps were entered into a draw to win a meal for two.

As usual all the bars that took part pulled out all the stops with 11 scrumptious tapas including:

Hotel La Enrea – Barco la Enrea

Casablanca – Huevos rellenos con salsa de aceitunas prietas

La Fonda – Twister de Langostinos con crema de pimientos rojos al Armagnac

Montehelado – Tapa dulce

Justo – Tapa marinera Justo

El Titi – Ensalada de primavera con pan de higo

La Paz – Bacalao con aceite chorreao en cama de pimientos asados

Curro Lucena – Bacalao a la crema de langostino acopmanado con arroz pinar negro y algas marinas

Atalaya – Pastel frio de bacalao sobre concha de Vieira y salsa de ostras con miso

Flor de Olivo – Crujiente de mar y espuma de aceite de oliva

Jomay – Milhoja de berenjena , pescado y marisco gratinado a los 4 quesos sobre salsa americana
